This is very important. Our schedule for Sunday morning activities will change *permanently* on Sunday August 21.
The new schedule for Sunday morning activities will be:
- Bible study at 10:10 a.m.
- Worship together at 11:00 a.m.
- Church bus starting at Edward Gay apartments at 9:40 a.m.
We are looking forward to this new schedule because:
- Now we will have the same Sunday morning schedule as University Baptist Church
- Everyone will be home sooner!
Please remember that this Sunday August 14 we will still have Bible study at 10:20 a.m. and worship at 11:15 a.m. The new schedule does not start until Sunday August 21.
Next week University Baptist Church will offer Vacation Bible School for children age 4 through 5th grade. Middle school and high school children can still participate as helpers.
Monday June 20 to Friday June 24 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.
University Baptist Church
5775 Highland Road, 70808
There will be singing, games, crafts, and Bible studies. There is no cost for Vacation Bible School.
If you would like your child/children to participate please register online at http://www.ubc-br.org/form11767.htm.
*Rick Wright plans to drive the church bus Monday through Thursday night during Vacation Bible School. Children must be at least 5 years old to ride on the bus unless a parent comes with him/her. He will pick up starting at Edward Gay at 5:30 p.m. Parents need to meet their children when he takes them home starting at Edward Gay at 8:45 p.m. (Rick will not be able to drive the bus for Vacation Bible School on Friday night because of English Conversation.)
Small change of plan.
Because we do not have English Conversation in May – why not have a movie night? That way people can come and have fun and then we can meet the new pastors of University Baptist Church.
We invite you to movie night this Friday starting at 6:30 p.m. (a little earlier than other movie nights) in the chapel. We will turn the chapel into a movie theater! There will be free drinks and snacks including delicious popcorn. We have not decided which movie yet but probably “Megamind“. Something that is fun and funny for both children and adults. Children are welcome.

You can drive yourself or you can ride on the church bus which will pick up at:
- Edward Gay at 6:15 p.m.
- Alaska at 6:17 p.m.
- Tiger Towers at 6:18 p.m.
- Nicholson at 6:20 p.m.
- Tigerland at 6:25 p.m.
- Brightside bus stop at 6:28 p.m.
Please allow 5-7 minutes for the bus to arrive because of weather or traffic.
And then – Many of you know that University Baptist Church supports Church of the Nations. And for more than a year University Baptist Church has not had a pastor. But they have found two excellent ministers – Mike Massar and Griff Martin – that we hope will become co-pastors. They will be here this week to visit and meet people and to speak to the church on Sunday. And Church of the Nations has a chance to visit with them this Friday May 13 at 8:15 p.m. in the chapel. There will be some light snacks and drinks.
We understand the end of the semester is a busy time for many of you. But if you have time we would love for internationals and Americans to have a chance to meet these two people and to share with them about Church of the Nations.
(Think of it this way. Church of the Nations is like a university department and Pastor Rick is the chairperson. The pastors of University Baptist Church are like deans of the university – Rick will work for them and with them.)
We will have a different Sunday morning schedule this Sunday May 15.
- Bible study at 9:15 a.m.
- Worship at 10:30 a.m.
The bus will pick people up at earlier times:
- Edward Gay apartments at 8:50 a.m.
- Alaska Street at 8:52 a.m.
- Tiger Towers apartments at 8:53 a.m.
- Nicholson bus stop at 8:55 a.m.
- Tigerland at 8:58 a.m.
- Brightside bus stop at 9:00 a.m.
Church of the Nations will join with University Baptist Church in the “big sanctuary” for a special and important worship gathering. The new co-pastors for University Baptist Church will speak. We encourage everyone to come and show our support.
We go back to our normal Sunday schedule again on Sunday May 22.
We want everyone to know about our special activities this week. Please come and participate!
