Only in Louisiana do we have a “Mardi Gras” break. What is Mardi Gras? And why is this religious/cultural holiday so important to Louisiana? Come learn about Mardi Gras at English Conversation this Friday February 17 starting at 7:30 p.m. at the home of:

You can drive yourself – or you can ride on the church bus which will pick up from:
- Highland Plantation – bus stop near neighborhood WalMart – at 6:55 p.m.
- Edward Gay apartments at 7:05 p.m.
- Tiger Towers outside front gate at 7:08 p.m.
- Nicholson family apartments bus stop at 7:10 p.m.
- Tigerland in the Circle K parking lot (although we can stop in front of your apartment if you tell us exactly where it is) at 7:15 p.m.
- Brightside bus stop at 7:18 p.m.
Please allow 5-10 minutes for the bus to arrive because of bad weather or traffic.
Directions from Louisiana State University (far from campus this week):
- Drive southeast on Highland Road
- Stay on Highland Road for several kilometers
- After you drive across Siegen look for the Highland Road Park and Observatory on the right
- Turn right onto Summer Ridge – should be the third right after Highland Road Park and Observatory
- Turn right onto Autumn Ridge
- Turn right onto Charter Ridge
- Look for house 125
Or:
- Drive southeast on Burbank
- Stay on Burbank for several kilometers
- Turn right onto Highland Road
- Follow directions #3-7 above
