Annual Dumpling Party! Friday, January 16

In Nepal they call them momos.

In Japan gyoza.

In Korea mandu.

In Turkey manti.

(The food and the word may come from Turkic and Mongol horsemen during the 13th-14th centuries.)

In China they are known as jiaozi.

Dumplings.

You know them. You make them. You eat them. You love them. And you would change your weekend plans just to go to a party that has them.

Church of the Nations invites you to our Annual Dumpling Party this Friday, January 16 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of University Baptist Church. We especially invite new internationals and encourage you to bring new internationals so we can meet them welcome them and let them know about our activities. Children may certainly come (although there is not childcare). And yes - Americans are welcome too!

You can drive yourself to this event or you can ride on the church bus which will pick up from Edward Gay at 5:45 p.m. then Tiger Towers at 5:48 p.m. finally Nicholson bus stop at 5:50 p.m. (We will also stop at Duplantier and Burbank/Jennifer Jean.)

Directions:

  1. Drive southeast from LSU on Highland Road
  2. Cross Lee Drive
  3. Turn left onto Leeward
  4. Turn into the first parking lot of University Baptist Church for the fellowship hall.

**If you have a small rolling pin - please bring it!**

“Hello! I am a sad and lonely dumpling. Will someone come eat me?”

*Important note about English Conversation - Please read*

English Conversation has always been for adults. (And sometimes youth who participate as students.) *Do not bring children please.* We do not have childcare or a program for children during English Conversation. If children come they will distract you (and others) and make it difficult to concentrate on learning and practicing English. It also makes the activity more difficult for teachers and host families. (Of course Church of the Nations has plenty of other activities and events when children are very welcome such as field trips and movie night as well as Sunday morning Bible study and worship.)

When English Conversation starts again in January we will again ask everyone to follow this rule. (And we are sorry but we cannot allow any exceptions.) If you have any questions please speak with Pastor Rick at rwright AT ubc-br DOT org or 766-9474 ext 222.
